The ESLI program at West Texas A&M University is the best thing that can happen to an international student. The program is more than a classroom center. It is a warm-hearted place where friendship is born and our future is built. The moment you walk into the ESLI classroom center you are certain that your life is going to change. The atmosphere is fill with laughter and joy. You are welcomed by friendly faces. Your future teachers stand by your side from the moment you start the program until the moment you graduate from the school. These people, whose joy comes from your success, are always willing to provide not only academic knowledge but also friendship. I found within the walls of the ESLI classrooms not only friendship but also a bigger family. The ESLI program helps you to understand not only the language but it also takes you into a more personal journey of self-discovery. While sharing with your newfound friends and your teachers the daily academic activities you realize that you have improve your language skills and yourself as a person. The discovery journey starts the moment you are capable to understand the surrounding language. Every day is marked by a new word, a new phrase, and a new challenge. The ESLI staff helps students to exceed themselves at school and in life. I have nothing but fond memories of my time in the ESLI program. I know myself better and thanks to my teacher's care and understanding I am convinced I can succeed in life as a well educated, independent and more tolerant person. There are not good enough words to describe the real meaning of the ESLI program in my life; the closest one I can think of is family. The ESLI program at McNeese State university is great beacuse the teachers are friendly and well prepared to teach intenational students. Lake Charles, the town where McNeese is located, is a wonderful because it is a small town that does not have problems like the big cities do. Lake Charles is a safe place that has a beautiful lake and very friendly people. The best part is that you are learning english and having a good time. While attending ESLI at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana, I've learned how to listen, speak, and write English better, but mostly I've learned a lot about myself. To be proficient is not as hard as to be fluent. Proficiency can be acquired by studying hard. On the other hand, fluency is only acquired with time and practice. Studying English as a second language is not as easy as it sounds. This last three and a half months, I have learned that being an ESLI student is really hard work. How many times has it happened to me, while I'm with Americans, that I wanted to say something but really couldn't because I didn't know what and how to say? In fact, I think we have all experienced this situation. With time, I can say that my proficiency acquired a level of fluency. In ESLI, I didn't learn English only. I experienced so many situations I will never forget. Who has not confused a guy with a she or a girl with a he? Moreover, I learned about different cultures and found new friends from different countries. It is amazing to see how one language has joined people as friends. Studying ESLI at McNeese has been the best experience I have ever had in my whole life. At this program, I have learned things that will help me as a professional and as a human being. First, this program has helped me to improve my English. That is very important for me because good English will help me succeed at every university in the United States. Also, I consider ESLI my first step to making my dream real. My dream is to become an aerospace engineer, which I had thought impossible before I came to ESLI. Second and the most important for me is how ESLI helped me to improve myself as a person. Since I came to ESLI, I have gained more responsibility, and this program also made me more mature. In addition, I have met many interesting people from various countries and most of them have become my best friends. Never in my life did I imagine that I was going to find better friends in other countries than in my own country. ESLI has been a great experience for me. An appropiate pedagogy and a warm enviroment have made my apprenticenship of a new language easier. McNeese is located in Lake Charles, Lousiana, a town distinguished for its southern hospitality. I highly recommend coming to study at McNeese State University. As with any other exchange program, ESLI at McNeese gives you the opportunity to improve your English. Sharing classes with people from so many different countries and trying to communicate through a second language has made this an interesting experience. Even though I miss my country, I do not regret the time I have spent here because I have learned how language can let you discover and understand a different culture. English as a Second Language International is an English program that will fulfill all your expectations about studying this most spoken language in the world. Puedes viajar por todo el mundo en un solo lugar?.... créeme SI... eso fue lo que vivi en USA con el programa de American
Hospitality Academy (AHA), además de obtener experiencia en el campo Hotelero, mejorarando mis habilidades administrativas y operacionales, e incrementando mi idioma
ingles, tuve la gran oportunidad de conocer a gente de todo el mundo y si hablo de todo el mundo es de todo el mundo...
Convives y trabajas con personas de diferentes culturas, lenguas, hábitos, gastronomía y todo lo que te puedas imaginar diferente a la tuya, pero al mismo tiempo tan parecidos a ti en muchisimos aspectos.
Tengo amigos al otro lado del mundo, Francia, Holanda, Libano, Jordania, China, Taiwan, Filipinas, Korea, Marruecos, Kenya, Nepal, Rusia, Ukrania, España, Rumania, Mexico, Panama, Rep. Dominicana y por supuesto USA, gente q jamas te hubieras imaginado conocer y pasar tantas buenas experiencias... compartir tus costumbres con ellos, cenar en un lugar donde en la mesa puedes degustar comida como: tacos, crepes, humus y ceviche... es algo que solo este tipo de experiencias te lo permite.
Tienes que ser un embajador de tu país y exponer todo lo maravilloso que es este, y así mismo encontrarte con las maravillas de los otros países...
Acabando esto.. te pregunto otra vez... crees que viaje por todo el mundo?.. Lo hice y no me arrepiento. Ahora tengo amigos alrededor del mundo, mi idioma inglés esta perfeccionado y mi experiencia laboral y de entrenamiento en mi carrera son de las mejores.
No dudes en hacerlo, es una oportunidad que es demasiado buena para dejarla pasar.

Mi experiencia en LaSalle College en la escuela de Gastronomía ha sido increíble, he aprendido muchísimo, es una excelente universidad, las instalaciones son buenísimas, creo que tiene la mejor cocina de enseñanza en Bogotá.
La gente de acá es muy abierta, unas personas muy buena gente.
